    Shalen Fox
    Head of Sports

Good day my friendMy name is Shalen Fox. I am a proud member of Sweetgrass First Nation. I am a person who helps plant seeds of belief in our Indigenous youth. I encourage our youth to try new things in life. I invite our youth to come with me when I attend ceremonies, culture events and sit with our Elders.I have been part of Tony Cote Games as a coach, volunteer and as a fan. It always warms my heart to see our athletes have an opportunity to showcase their natural talent. Today I am here to help BATC with making sure the games run smoothly. I have learned lots from other people who have made sure the games run as smoothly as possible. We have a great team and support system in place that will allow us to grow together. Our main focus is to make sure our youth have a great experience. We thank all the sport coordinators, coaches, and volunteers to make these games possible. We couldn't do this without our sponsors who make sure we can run the best games for our youth. But most importantly we thank our Elders for guiding us in the right direction. This years games are special to us in Treaty 6 because it's 150 years of treaty. These games will always be remembered for that purpose. We will do our best to honour our ancestors in the right way. We will provide historical teachings to our youth so they can carry the legacy as the transition into our future leaders.Thank you for allowing me to be part of this prestigious event of the Tony Cote Games- Shalen Fox

    Kat Huxley
    Soccer Organizer

Kat Huxley’s life has always had a soccer ball somewhere nearby.Born and raised in the Battlefords, Kat’s journey with the beautiful game began at just five years old—and it never really stopped. What started as a childhood love quickly grew into a lifelong passion that has shaped not only her career, but her commitment to youth, community, and connection through sport.Kat stepped into coaching in 2006, discovering early on that her impact extended far beyond the sidelines. By 2010, she took on a leadership role as a director with Battleford Youth Soccer Inc., where she has since been a steady and passionate force helping to grow the game and create opportunities for young athletes. Whether organizing programs, mentoring coaches, or cheering on players, Kat’s commitment to soccer has always been rooted in giving back. Her coaching experience has taken her to some of the biggest stages in amateur sport. In 2023, Kat proudly served as Head Coach for the U19 Female Soccer Team at the North American Indigenous Games—an experience that blended competition, culture, and community in the most meaningful way. She followed that up by joining the coaching staff for Team Saskatchewan as Assistant Coach at the 2025 Canada Games, continuing to advocate for and elevate female athletes at the provincial and national levels. Along the way, she has also held Head Coach positions with Rivers West at both the Saskatchewan Summer and Winter Games, leading teams in soccer and futsal with energy, focus, and heart.Ask Kat what soccer means to her, and the answer goes far beyond wins and losses. For her, soccer is about unity. It’s about those moments on the field when everyone is equal, working toward a common goal, sharing joy, challenge, and pride. She believes true success is measured by the environment you create—one that is welcoming, safe, supportive, and fun—where youth feel valued and empowered to grow not just as athletes, but as people. This summer, Kat is thrilled to bring that same passion and perspective to the Tony Cote Summer Games. She’s excited to be part of an event that celebrates sport, culture, and community—and to continue doing what she loves most: helping young athletes find confidence, connection, and a sense of belonging through the game of soccer.
